Do you travel for weddings?
Of course! I will travel to virtually any part of the earth you need. All locations over a certain distance will attract extra costs for travel, accommodation where necessary.
What cameras do you use?
I use professional Nikon DSLR cameras, coupled with several top of the range professional lenses, and a host of lighting gear and modifiers.
How will we reserve our wedding date?
Once I have received your signed contract and deposit, your date is then fully reserved, and I will not accept any other clients for that date. The balance will be due any time up until your big day.
How much is the deposit?
I ask for a non-refundable 30% booking fee to reserve your wedding date.
What happens after the booking?
We’ll then start pre wedding consultations leading up to the day. Further, if included in your package, a date is arranged for the pre wedding/engagement session. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know a bit more about you.
We live out of town, how will this affect our consultations?
While I would love to meet up before the day, busy schedules and distance may prevent that. However all decisions can he handled remotely by phone or even Skype.
Where and when will the pre wedding/engagement shoot take place?
At the end of the day this is completely up to you within reason! Preferably at some place that holds some special meaning to you. Ideally due to having to shoot events over the weekend, most engagement sessions take place during the week. But sometimes I do manage to arrange a weekend shoot.
Do you provide video services as well?
Yes! Whether you need full coverage with a videographer at hand or just a small 5 minute video that really packs a punch we've got it covered.
What time will you be arriving on the day?
I normally get to the bridal prep venue about an hour or two before the ceremony time. We’ll try to capture the general atmosphere, photograph the dress and accessories, the end part of the make up session, and then the bridal portrait session. If for some reason, you need me to be there earlier, I'll need to know this before the day.
Is it important to have a second shooter on the day?
While a single photographer can capture your day, we strongly advise having a second shooter to ensure no incredible moments are missed. While one focuses on the father of the bride’s speech for example, the other can focus on reactions from the bride or guests, thus creating a more compelling story of your day. A second shooter will go around candidly capturing moments and people throughout the day, whereas I will be doing a bit more of regular and formal photography, and this means you’ll end up with an amazing collection of different images to choose from.
Will you take us away from our guests for hours on end?
Absolutely not. My style is creative documentary wedding photography & this means relaxed, natural shots. Nothing forced. All I need is 10 or 15 minutes at some point during the day for bride & groom “alone time”.
How about the family formal shots?
We definitely believe in family group pictures, mainly of parents and siblings. I'll normally get you to write up a short list of who you want photographing, different combinations and groups etc, and on the day, arrange for the ushers or family friends to help gather necessary guests for the pre arranged photographs. Keeping this list short, allows more time for the more creative portraits of the bride, groom and the bridal train.
Will you require a meal at our reception?
I never say no to food & a meal is always welcomed. If I eat while you eat, it means I won’t miss anything on the day.
How long will you stay with us on our wedding day?
This will depend on the wedding package booked, or on a pre-agreed upon time schedule. Normally I will wait until all the key moments of the reception are done with, and then leave sometime during the dancing, when we feel we have enough images for your story.
How long will it take to get our images?
Your images will be ready within 3 - 5 weeks of your wedding. After this I will upload the images onto a password protected web gallery for you to view, and share with friends and family. If you’d like certain friends and family to be able to order prints and digital downloads, we can also enable that.
A hard copy will then be posted out to you. Depending on your package a CD or USB with all the high resolution images.
Will the images be edited before presentation?
All images are individually assessed for colour and tone, and edited appropriately. Blemishes and distractions are then taken care of before presentation.
Is there an extra charge for this service?
No. All reasonable editing is carried out on a complimentary basis. Note however that digital manipulation, which is very different from editing, will come at an additional charge where necessary.
How many photos do we get?
I place no upper limit on the number of photos you receive, but usually it will be around 400 images and often more, all fully edited by myself for colour and consistency throughout.
Can we print the photos?
Of course! You have full printing rights for any image I provide, so you can upload them to Facebook or Twitter, print them out, or go online and use lots of different providers that all offer prints.
Do you have any qualifications?
Yes, I studied at Blackpool & Fylde College and earned a BA (Hons) in Photography.
I also have over 8 years experience in the industry.
Do you photograph anything else in addition to weddings?
Yes! I am an experienced wedding and portrait photographer and have worked in the industry for a number of years ranging from Fashion Editorials to Child & Newborn portraits. I am available for portrait sessions in addition to weddings, and that includes maternity, children, family and parties.
